Services

  • Our member advocate team helps members have the best health care experience possible. Along with providing plan overviews, member advocates explain available benefits for: 

     

    • STAR/CHIP/STAR Kids coverage 
    • Texas Health Steps 
    • Renewal 
    • Accelerated Services for Farmworker Children

    Other services our outreach team offers: 

     

    • Answering coverage questions. Members can get more info about their plans. 
    • Re-enrollment assistance. Call 2-1-1 Texas or visit Your Texas Benefits page.
    • Member Advisory Group meetings. Our member advocate team schedules quarterly STAR Member Advisory Group meetings for all STAR members. 
    • Maternity care program. The Member Baby Shower program helps with your pregnancy. And the Diapers for Dads program has great info for fathers-to-be. You can find schedules by visiting our pregnancy care page.
    • CVS® HealthHUBTM events. Our member advocate team schedules weekly health education events at local CVS HealthHUB locations. Get the latest info on COVID-19 and vaccination incentives.

    To reach a member advocate, just complete this form. Or call the number on the back of your member ID card. You can also leave a message in our member advocate mailbox: 1-800-327-0016. We’ll return your call within one to two business days.  

     

    For members who are deaf or hard of hearing, call 1-800-735-2989.

  • STAR (Medicaid) and STAR Kids members have coverage for nonemergent medical transportation. These rides are for doctor, dentist, hospital or pharmacy visits. You can contact Access2Care at 1-866-411-8920 (TTY: 711) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Be sure to schedule rides at least two business days in advance.

  • If you speak a language other than English, we can help. Just contact us. Then, ask for an interpreter. You'll get this service at no cost.

     

    If you’re deaf or blind, we can give you info in other formats. These include sign language, braille, large print and audio.

  • What to do if you’re having a crisis

    You can call our behavioral health hotline 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you need language help, you can also get interpreter services:

  • Need a quick answer to a health question? The 24-Hour Nurse Line is here for you. If your concern can’t wait until you can see your doctor, just call us anytime at 1-800-556-1555 (TTY: 711). And we’ll connect you with a nurse.
