Why choose Aetna Better Health® of Illinois? We take care of the whole you. Get all the benefits you’re used to plus extras to keep you healthy. Because healthier happens together®.

 

Once your HealthChoice Illinois (Medicaid) application receives approval, you can choose us as your health plan. If you don’t choose a plan, the state will choose one for you. Already enrolled in a health plan? You can change plans during open enrollment.

Why choose us?

Choose Aetna Better Health as your HealthChoice Illinois plan. As a member, you’ll get extra benefits that go beyond your standard health coverage. Here are a few of the extras you’ll receive:

  • Rewards you can earn

    Get rewards for focusing on your health. You can start earning Aetna Better Care Rewards for completing healthy steps, like wellness checkups, yearly screenings, pregnancy care and more.

  • $25 for OTC products

    Spend $25 on over-the-counter (OTC) health supplies from CVS Health®. We'll send them to you every month at no extra cost.  

  • Help with managing your weight and fitness

    Join gym and weight management memberships at no extra cost. You can also enjoy no-cost meal delivery programs with personal nutrition and dietitian services when you qualify.

  • Support for moms and babies

    Get $45 each month to spend on baby supplies, including diapers, a car seat, portable crib, a highchair and more. You can also get in-person doula services with online maternal health coaching and other support. 

Choose or change health plans

Remember to choose Aetna Better Health of Illinois when it’s time for enrollment. You have a few options:

  • Online: Visit HealthChoice Illinois.

  • By phone: Call HealthChoice Illinois at 1-877-912-8880 (TTY: 1-866-565-8576). You can call Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 6 PM. Tell them you choose Aetna Better Health of Illinois as your plan. 

  • By mail: Complete the enrollment form you got in the mail. Send it to the address on the form.

Switching to Aetna Better Health

Already enrolled in a health plan? You can switch to Aetna Better Health during open enrollment. This period is 60 days long and happens once a year. Before then, you’ll get a letter with all the info you need to change plans. 

Haven’t applied for Medicaid yet?

The first step is applying for HealthChoice Illinois (Medicaid) benefits. Once you become enrolled, you can choose Aetna Better Health of Illinois as your plan.
